Dear Parent/Guardian,
I want to take this opportunity to thank you for all your efforts and support during the 2021/22 school year. With great pleasure, we notify you that the 2022/2023 Lifelong Faith Formation/Religious Education Program will be an entire in-person session.
In the American Catholic Church, there is a shift from Religious Education to Lifelong Faith Formation. Several key Church documents have recently changed to include a new language focusing on the importance of a Family-focused Catechesis model. This family model is taking hold as a partnership between Catechists (Teachers) and Parents/Guardians (Witnesses of the faith) to make our learner's experience of Jesus come alive.
Thanks to your tremendous support for last year's Family Catechesis program component, we are continuing with a new series of Family Activity events in 2022/2023. Beginning in November 2022 and each month through April 2023 (7 sessions), there will be a Family Activity. Our vision is that your participation in FIVE of these dates will strengthen our efforts in the classroom. Each session will be approximately ninety minutes and will include time for fellowship.
The Family Activity sessions are:
In 2022: Sunday – November 6, Thursday – December 1, & Sunday - December 11
In 2023: Saturday - January 28, Friday - February 24, Wednesday - March 29, and Saturday - April 22.
All learners will have two Formation Classes in 2022 from 11:35 AM to 12:45 PM:
Sunday, October 30, 2022, on Saints
Sunday, December 4, 2022, on Advent/Christmas
The learners will attend eight in-person classes after the Sunday 10:30 Mass from 11:35 AM to 12:45 PM. These classes will be on the following Sundays:
January 29, February 5, 12, & 26, and March 5, 12 19 & 26
Confirmation Retreat – Saturday, September 23, 2023, from 11:30 AM – 3:45 PM
Confirmation will be conferred on a Friday in October 2023.
We will receive notification of our date for Confirmation from Bishop O'Connell's office in the summer of 2023.
Registration will open on Monday, July 18, 2022. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me. I look forward to this exciting new school year.
May God richly bless you and your family.
