Remote Learning Parent Letter 2020

Dear Parent/Guardian,

We are grateful for all you have done to support your child in learning about their Catholic faith.  We want to assure you that we will continue to support you in that effort in these turbulent times.

The purpose of this letter is to inform you that all Religious Education classes will be offered as Remote Learning with component of home schooling for the Fall of 2020.  Classes will begin in October 2020, in order to give the students time to adjust to their academic classes before starting their Faith Formation Session.  As you know the traditional classes have been held from September through the end of March.  However, this year they will begin in October and conclude at the end of March 2021. The reason for this decision is that the health and safety of all is our utmost concern at this time, without a vaccine for Covid-19 we must proceed with the utmost caution.

This summer we offered Remote Learning with a component of home-schooling session and we are pleased to inform you that the overall experience has been positive.  Over the last few months, we have been working with the Diocesan staff to develop a contingency plan for remote learning with a component of home-schooling session to be done by the students with their catechists for the Fall semester.

Due to these significant changes in the format of our Fall session we are planning to host a virtual meeting for parents to be held on Wednesday, August 26th  at 6:30 PM, and Thursday, August 27th at 11:00 AM for parents of those students who are interested in participating in the remote learning with a component of home-schooling session.

Our hope is that this Remote Learning with a component of home-schooling option will work for you and your family.

Please respond to Michele Cuiule by Friday, August 21, 2020 to let us know that your child will participate in Remote Learning with a component of home-schooling session.  Information will be sent to the parents to join in a Zoom meeting to discuss the Fall Session and the schedule for remote learning beginning in October.

Peace and God Bless,
Nanci Bachman, Director Lifelong Faith Formation
