Bereavement

Invitation to the “Loss and Grief” Support Sessions

At St. David the King, we understand that the loss of a loved one can be a profound and life-changing experience. Grief can leave us feeling isolated, uncertain, and overwhelmed. As a community of faith, we are called to support one another through these difficult times, lifting each other up in the grace of Christ Jesus, who is the source of our strength and comfort.

We invite all those who have experienced the pain of losing a loved one to join our four-week “Loss and Grief” overview, where we will gently explore how loss changes our lives and how to begin integrating grief into our journey of healing. Each session will offer space for conversation and reflection on the emotions and challenges that come with grief. There is no pre-work or reading required—just an open heart and a willingness to walk alongside others who understand.

Details:

  • Sessions are scheduled quarterly at St. David the King.
  • We ask that participants commit to attending all four sessions, as each one builds upon the last.
  • No prior preparation is necessary—the sessions are conversational and open to all.

For more information or to sign up, please contact Al Martella at sdtk.almart@gmail.com.

A past participant shared:
“I had no idea what to expect from this group, but even after the first night I knew I was on the right path…with the right people. I am already comforted and know I am among friends. God is certainly in that room with us all.”

If you’re walking through a season of grief, we invite you to join us and find strength in Christ’s love and in the support of others who care.

For all who have lost a loved one, we pray:

Jesus, you said, “Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.” Lord, for those who are mourning, please send them your comfort now. Wrap your arms around them and hold them tight. Send angels of mercy to them.. Shower them comfort. Lift them up and give them hope once more. Help them to believe that tomorrow will be better and the next day will be easier. Amen.
