Pope Francis declared 2025 the Holy Jubilee Year with the theme “Pilgrims of Hope.”

The Jubilee Year will offer the faithful opportunities to participate in various jubilee events at the Vatican and in their own dioceses. We often speak of our earthly life as a pilgrimage. Jesus said, “I am the way and the truth and the life” (Jn 14:6), so Christians are always called to be with Jesus “on the way,” journeying toward the Kingdom. More literally, a pilgrimage is an actual journey to visit holy places—not as a tourist, but as one seeking to grow in faith and become a better Christian.
