Offering Comfort Through Prayer and Love
The Prayer Shawl Ministry at St. David the King is a beautiful expression of compassion, love, and care for those in our parish who are enduring difficult times. This ministry is dedicated to creating handmade shawls, lap blankets, and small blankets—each crafted with prayer and intentional care. These comforting gifts are lovingly given to those who are seriously ill, grieving, or facing challenging moments in their lives, offering them not only warmth, but a tangible reminder of God’s love and the support of our parish community.
If you know of a parishioner who could benefit from the comfort of one of our shawls, please reach out to Mary Jane Diener. We will ensure that a shawl is presented to them with prayer and love.
In addition to supporting those who are suffering, we also knit small blankets for infants who are baptized in our parish, offering a special gift to new parents as a sign of the parish’s joy and blessing for their child.
The Prayer Shawl Ministry is not just about knitting or crocheting; it is about weaving together faith, hope, and love, and creating a community of care that extends to all. Whether you are an experienced knitter or just starting out, we welcome you to join us! It’s never too late to get involved. Bring your needles, yarn, smiles, and prayers to our meetings, and become part of this meaningful ministry.
