Service & Social (Young Adult Ministry)

On Saturday, June 1st join St. David the King and the Diocese of Trenton in participating in the Service & Social. It will be a casual day for Young Adults to build community and put their faith into action by serving those in need. The day will begin at 9:00 AM at Vincent’s Legacy in Wall, New Jersey (2201 Marconi Road (InfoAge/former Camp Evans site), Wall Township, 07719). Please enter through main gates, turn right at the “T” intersection, follow road around a few bends, Warehouse #9037D will be on your left, directly across from the Brookdale Community College parking lot. Our day will end at 2:00 PM.

This is a great opportunity to connect with other young adults from our Diocese and use our gifts and talents to serve God and make a difference in the community!

Part of our day will be delivering furniture and home goods to families in need that have recently acquired housing. We will also pick up donations and help organize and clean them, etc. So, close toed shoes are required. Also, I recommend bringing water to stay hydrated! We will need to car pool from the warehouse to the locations we will serve. If you are willing to drive please let me know! Be prepared for the weather, dress for the possibility of getting dirty, and be open to doing whatever task needs to be done!

Pizza will be provided for lunch. (If you have special dietary needs, please bring your own lunch).

If you have any additional questions, please contact Matthew Simms (609-275-7111 (ext. 202) | msimms@stdavidtheking.com).

Piece It Together – Life Night (Youth Ministry)

Sunday – May 5th from 5:00 – 6:30

This Life Night helps teens see how the Old Testament fits into the larger story of salvation history. The session begins with assembling simple floor puzzles within small groups. Just when teens think the activity is too simple, there is an unexpected twist. The combined Proclaim and Break sections are presented in collaboration between a teacher and a storyteller, with content presentation alternating between upfront teaching and Connect Group small group processes. The session concludes with a reflection on our personal pieces of the puzzle. This is a great Life Night to help teens learn more about the Old Testament so they can better know God’s love for them.
